About the Chamber
In today's business world you must take advantage of every resource available to grow your company into a successful one. Some of those advantages can include everything from learning how to better market your product or service, making new business contacts and meeting other business leaders to receiving qualified referrals, and being kept informed of pressing business issues. An organization that offered all of that and more would be a priceless resource.
Founded in 2005, the Indigenous Internet Chamber of Commerce. As an organization that believes connecting your business is the foundation of our success, the Chamber is committed to seeking out and providing the services and programs necessary to keep your business on the cutting edge of every issue.
The Chamber offers much more than just programs and services; we are dedicated to ensuring a viable and healthy business climate to our Indigenous family of Entrepreneurs as our membership encompasses the Western Hemisphere.
The IICOC began as a project with the Minneapolis South Rotary Club in 2004 as part of its International project. Founding the IICOC is K. Larry Knudsen of the Ho-Chunk, Omaha, and Ponca Nations, whose vision to help Indigenous people become self-sufficient and independent as entrepreneurs in the marketplace.
The IICOC is submitting a 501 (c) (3) application with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Until we receive our official approval, Sustain Minnesota Inc. is acting as fiscal agent. We are funded primarily by dues paid by member businesses and through the programs and events. It is not a government agency and receives no tax dollars.
The Indigenous Internet Chamber of Commerce provides a connecting place for Native people to market their products and services to a world market.
It's a place where businesses can learn from one another and find and utilize products and services of other Native peoples.
It's a way to remove the borders and build the connections between businesses and peoples so your business can grow and prosper in this worldwide marketplace.
Digital technology and the informational super highway known as the Internet provide American Indians of the Western Hemisphere--for the first time--with unique economic and creative vehicles to promote growth.
Our goal is to:
-
Promote honest, responsible, fair and ethical Internet business
-
Help Native businesses understand and tap into business on the Internet
-
Provide a marketplace for businesses and people worldwide to find and purchase authentic Native merchandise
-
Provide internet forums and networking opportunities leading to expanded business
-
Support active members through international exposure
-
Share ideas among businesses and individuals with common interests
