"With one foot in the future and one foot in the past, it's all about great music and songs..." states Eric Buffalohead (Ponca), lead guitarist and co-founder of this Minneapolis, MN based Native American Blues-Rock band Bluedog.  Along with lead singer and lyricist Joni Buffalohead (Dakota), Bluedog is poised and ready to take America by storm with the release of their debut recording "From All Directions".

Although Bluedog is a Native American band, their unique blend of contemporary blues, rock, R&B and folk gives them an instantly identifiable sound, which appeals to audiences of all genders, ages and creeds.

The recognizable influences of legendary acts such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Santana, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Jimi Hendrix are apparent in the songwriting and musicianship of Bluedog, but with the inclusion of the Janis Joplin and Susan Tedschi inspired vocal talents of lead singer Joni Buffalohead, the Bluedog "sound" is wonderfully innovative, and includes a strong leaning towards their Native American mentors, Indigenous and Redbone.

Once in a while a musical force will burst upon the scene and forever change the sonic landscape, Bluedog is that force. Great music and songs are fundamental to a bands success....."

Bluedog is a band for the future.

[Bdewakantowan/Dakota] Co-founder and singer-songwriter, Joni got her start in music as a conga and bongos player. She quickly developed an interest in vocals and took off from there. The Bluedog band was founded to give Joni the opportunity to be co-lead vocalist in a blues rock band.

Eric Buffalohead-Guitar:
[Ponca] Co-founder and lead guitarist, Eric has been playing in bands for over twenty years. In that time he has covered various categories of music including; classic rock, oldies, blues, country and reggae. Chuck Davis-Conga/Bongos and Timbales:
[Lakota] Congas and Bongos, Chuck joined Bluedog after a long stint of touring nationally with Brule. Chuck has had a long career in music that has taken him around the United States. His playing abilities add new dimensions to the Bluedog sound.
