Dale Parker Sr. - Chieftain Electric

Dale attended grade school on the Omaha Nation Reservation in Macy and Walthill, Nebraska. Later Dale's family moved to Sioux City, Iowa, where he graduated from Sioux City Central High School. True to the "warrior's calling" he joined the Army, shortly after, Dale found immediate celebrity as an infantryman, Native Americans already had a reputation as "a good person to stay close to", "always had a cool head and if they said anything, you could believe them". These attributes have been a part of Dale's business life as well.

Dale joined the trade's union as an electrician (IDEW). As a lincensed union electrician Dale has worked on the largest projects in the Sioux City Tri-State area (Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota). In 1980 Chieftain Electric opened with Dale at the helm. Dale isn't candid at all but when asked about himself, he became painfully shy, not wanting to appear boastful. He is very proud that his business has grown enough for him to dance to the big drum. "I have worked in all four directions and I have danced in all four directions".

Dale Parker

Dale has amassed  thirty years  experience,  built an oustanding reputation and has taken on projects large and small, commerical, residential and industrial. Chieftain Electric has recently completed two major projects: the Ho-Chunk Nation High School in Winnebago and the Omaha Nation High School in Macy, both reservations in Nebraska.

Chieftain Electric had to go through the bidding process, just like any other contractor but managed to land both contracts. Testament that Dale and Chieftain Electric are giving back to the Native American communities that shaped his life.

Dale has many facets seems to always have a smile and is well-known as an outstanding softball player and traditional dancer.  People around him seem to know that he is "a good person to stay close to", "always has a cool head and if he say's anything you can believe him".
