Interview with Lawrence F. Archambault, LFA Marketing & Entertainment Agency By Larry Knudsen
Tell us about yourself? (What nation you're from, a little about growing up and your passion)
I am a Hunkpapa Lakota of the Standing Rock Sioux Nation. I am 36 years old and have been married to my wife Brooke (Zephier) Archambault for over 12 years. We have two children: son, Xavier, 12 yrs. old and daughter, Teja, 5 yrs. old.
I grew up in the small community of Rock Creek, SD (a.k.a. Bullhead, SD) which consists of about 300 people, this is also the home place of the Great Sioux Medicine Man Sitting Bull, of which I am also a descendent of.
My passion lies within the Music Industry as this has always been a big part of my life and that of my fathers before. I recall very early on, my grandpa Cyril Archambault and his brother's playing in our dining room on Sundays while I observed. There were always musical instruments in the house and I eventually just started dabbling with them from about age 5, particularly the percussions. I began playing in my father's band (Wyman Archambault) at the age of 10. And from then on, we were performing throughout the Midwest practically every weekend with my dad's group until I graduated from high school. I then attended The Musicians Institute of Technology, a.k.a M.I.T. in Hollywood, California of which I graduated in the top 5 of the percussion class of 200 students. After that, I traveled for awhile playing in various bands from Texas to Washington State and also in California.

How many employees do you have?
Right now, there are five; Myself, my wife Brooke, William Zephier, Don Bad Moccasin, and Wyman Archambault. We also utilize professional contractors for over flow and so on.
Tell us about your current projects?
With the 4 divisions in LFA Marketing & Entertainment we handle Sound & Lighting for a few Native Casinos as we place bids out on these services, same with the Entertainment, Marketing & Printing. I'd be writing for a long time if I put all the projects down on paper.
What was your first job? TWO ANSWERS:
1.) Companies First Job: was Video / Audio Production for Fort Randall Casino & Hotel as well as media Buy for air.
2.) Lawrence F. Archambault - My first job was working for my dad in the band business I got paid $100.00 a night to play drums but I usually spent all that on equipment upgrades as well as helping around the house so my first job was at the age of 10 years old.
What hobbies and interests do you have outside of music?
Golf, basketball, traveling, home improvement projects (My wife says Unfinished Home Improvement Projects??¦Jokes).
What was your favorite concert that your company produced?
We didn't produce the whole show but helped in areas that needed to be like set up and tear down, Sturgis 2006. That was huge over 60 thousand people with Nickleback, Black Crowes, Live, Motherwolf. Got to hang out with the groups and visit with them as well as their management my son is a huge Nicklback fan and he got to hangout with Chad 9 lead Singer) I was the best dad in the world at that time.
Who is your favorite artist of all time?
It would have to be my dad and Grandpa providing me with the tools to move forward with my dreams and goals.
Tell us about your production team?
As far as production, we utilize many sources on that aspect. Depending on the venue my lighting engineer used to tour with Bon Jovi, as well as my sound engineer he toured with allot so all depending on what size venue I handle majority of the engineering work as well as my staff depending on the size. And the set up from the first day of utilizing my company we talk with who ever you hired whether it's the Guess Who, Randy Travis and we establish that working relationship and speak with them on a weekly bases until the show for providing and meeting all their tech rider requirements for a 100% crowd pleasing show.

My Father and Grandpa.

My Family is the biggest inspiration I want to give them what I didn't have. And of course the creator.
Have you had any work in the Indian Casinos?
YES to name a few Prairie Knights Casino, Grand River Casino, Dakota Magic Casino, Fort Randall Casino, they keep me pretty busy. I started out doing this on my own and now with a full staff I am ready and moving forward with Marketing other Native American casinos as well as fairs and festivals, Club and Lounge all areas of entertainment.
Any advice for our Entrepreneur's?
Just follow your dreams and set goals for yourself, I was watching a Native report on Economic Development on Sunday with Native report and they had Dave Anderson (Famous Daves Restaurants) and he mentioned something that really hit me was the passion for what you do will determine your outcome and that's how I am with my company the Passion and the dream but most importantly, believe in yourself. Everyday I thank the creator for allowing me to provide for my family and my work associates.
