CAL NEZ, Navajo/Din, Graphic Designer Cal Nez, Navajo, Tachiinii Clan born for the Tanaszanii Clan originally from Tocito New Mexico. He was raised by Grandparents, of the late Bitonie and Mary B. Nez from infancy. He only spoke Navajo until he entered Bureau of Indian Affairs Boarding School operated in nearby Sanostee, New Mexico. Cal takes pride in being a Navajo person bridging the gap between cultures. He gives special thanks to the support of his loving wife, Yolanda.
GRAPHIC DESIGNER/ARTIST Cal Nez believes he is an artist first. All of Cal's art is original art work. He believes if one looks closely at his work you will begin to touch his soul and understand what he mean by cross-cultural communication. In 1973, Cal left his homeland and traveled to Salt Lake City, Utah with the approval of his grandparents and graduated from South High School where he studied fine arts and graphic design.

Cal has a proven track record of over twenty years of providing award-winning designs. Cal Nez Design is a firm specializing in solving communication and marketing problems. We qualify for Navajo/Indian Preference and Buy-Indian. He is currently producing brochures, annual reports, product literatures, exhibits, posters, advertisements, calendars, flyers, and packaging, etc., as well as illustration, photography, art direction, copywriting, printing and fabrication supervision.
Cal's studio has worked on projects for the Eastman Kodak Co.; Amoco Oil Co.; AT&T; Universal Card; Smithsonian Institute/National Museum of the American Indian; Navajo Nation Fair; Office of the President of the United States - National Republican Party; Klamath Tribe; Mike Leavitt for Governor Campaign; Navajo Tribal Utility Authority; O.C. Tanner Co. and many more.
